Finding the time to write is exhausting.

Balancing your 9-5, plus writing is hard. No, just generally working is 110% eugh, and even switching off takes its toll. The whole notion of mustering the energy to put pen to paper whilst battling fatigue, sore limbs and a brain awash with rude customer energy can be draining. Yet I do it because I WANT TO. Because I love it. If we want something, we go for it - like a romantic relationship, if you want to be with said person/have them in your life, you will put in the time and energy to work on it otherwise it fails. World renown Podcaster and self-help guru, Jay Shetty, once described love in like the following: "When you like a flower, you pluck it. When you love a flower, you water it daily.” I think that’s completely applicable to writing and any creative endeavour. Writing plants the seeds of creativity and you have to care for them to help them grow. My current job is manual labour, the physical act of writing is knackering. Combine this with commute and all the perks of life admin = burnout. And procrastination can be a game changer when it comes to productivity (social media is painful for this). If I find myself doom scrolling I switch my phone off and shove it in a drawer to get rid of temptation.
