Behind the Scenes
Since entering the world of media in 2019, I’ve helped to tell some of the biggest stories for the Isle of Man and UK’s flagship drama/radio. It all began when I accepted my Internship at the Isle of Man public broadcaster, Manx Radio, in 2019 after being flagged for it last minute. There I reported on the front line of the covid-19 pandemic whilst writing and producing my own podcast, A Mark on the Page, which explored the publishing and literary writing scene on the island.
Two weeks as a Production Runner/Assistant for Greenlight Television in 2022, helping with the broadcast of the first eve LIVE TT Motorcycle Races for ITV4, was enough to convince me to jump in. Coming from a small island, with little to no TV connection it was a big risk.
I moved to London in August 2022 to work as an In-House Runner at Moonage Pictures (The Gentleman / Bodies / Famous Five / A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder) before progressing to an Assistant for BBC Studios Drama (EastEnders / Casualty / Silent Witness / River City / Pobol y Cwm). My journey has been a rollercoaster. I never would have thought I’d end up being thrown into this creative world. Throughout my time I’ve been assisting with the scripted development process via script reading to attending ADRs/Pick Ups, assisting with casting and also assisting with running writing retreats such as the BBC Writers Spotlight, BBC Commercial Writers Course and the BBC EastEnders Writers Room.
Throw in unemployment, toxic workplaces and uncertainty it has been tough. However, without it I would never have launched a Script Club from 2024-26 or even finished my first novel. Every job, role is a stepping stone, and I am grateful to have soaked up every minute no matter how hard it may have been!

And it all started with my Writing Professor who encouraged me to take a chance on my scriptwriting; a form I'd never dabbled with at university.He saw something in me I didn't see myself and here we are almost 10 years later.
